Mr. Robert L. Mallett is Senior Vice President for Worldwide Policy and Public
Affairs and President of the Pfizer Foundation. He directs Pfizer's global policy and industry
economics group, philanthropy and corporate giving department. He is also an elected officer
of the corporation.
Prior to joining Pfizer in April 2001, Mr. Mallett served as a visiting professor
at Harvard’s JFK School of Government and served in the Clinton Administration as Deputy
Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce. He is an attorney and has been a partner and
associate in law firms in Washington, D.C., as well as having served as legal counsel to
former United States Senator Lloyd Bentsen.
Mr. Mallett is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, an elected Fellow
of the National Academy of Public Administrators, Chairman of the U.S.-South Africa Business
Council, and a member of the Board of Directors of Medical Education of South African
Blacks (MESAB).
Mr. Mallett is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College (1979) and
received his law degree from Harvard University in 1982, where he was Projects Editor of
the Harvard Civil Right-Civil Liberties Law Review. He resides in New York City.
