Jhpiego hosts Senate briefing on cervical cancer prevention

24 March 2006

Jhpiego joined with U.S. Senators Richard Durbin (D-IL) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) on 24 March 2006 to host a congressional briefing on cervical cancer prevention. "We Can Prevent Cervical Cancer: Innovative Approaches to Prevention in Developing Countries" drew Senate staffers for an informative discussion of the leading cause of female cancer deaths in developing countries.

Jhpiego has sponsored several congressional briefings on topics including health care for women in regions affected by the South Asian tsunami and advances in women's health in Afghanistan.
