Jhpiego partners with World Trade Center Institute for 18th Annual Embassy Day

03 October 2006

Jhpiego participated in the Maryland World Trade Center Institute's annual Embassy Day, held on 28 September 2006 near Washington, DC. As a WTCI Premier Partner, Jhpiego hosted a booth at the event's popular trade show. More than 75 embassies were in attendance, including several ambassadors. Jhpiego staff, including CFO Kenneth Jones and VP for Global Operations Dr. Alain Damiba, had the opportunity to meet with representatives from many of the countries in which Jhpiego operates, including South Africa, Afghanistan and Vietnam.

This year's luncheon keynote address was delivered by Bill Marriott, CEO of Marriott International. The Embassy Day luncheon is attended by more than 400 international diplomats and business and political leaders from throughout Maryland. Last year's keynote address was given by Dr. Leslie Mancuso, President and CEO of Jhpiego.
