Baltimore, Maryland—Dr. William Brieger, senior malaria specialist for Jhpiego, will receive the 2008 Award of Merit for Contribution to the Development of Public Health in Africa from Nigeria’s oldest university. The honor is being given by the Faculty of Public Health, College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.

The recognition will be presented at the University of Ibadan’s National Conference, “Public Health in Nigeria and the Challenges of Achieving the Millennium Development Goals,” on Sunday, July 27.
