Self-Directed Learning Package for Breast and Pelvic Examination
This package on CD-ROM was developed to help learners independently acquire skills in breast and pelvic examination, under the guidance of a facilitator, using the Guidelines for Performing Breast and Pelvic Examinations and corresponding training video. The package comprises a Learning Activity Packet, which directs learners through the material step by step, and a Facilitator's Guide, which advises the facilitator how to structure the learning activities and includes a final evaluation questionnaire. This reference manual, produced by the Postabortion Care Consortium, provides clinicians with essential information on the safe and effective management of incomplete abortion and the life-threatening complications of unsafe abortion. The manual outlines the full range of activities needed to provide appropriate, high quality postabortion care, including family planning and referral to healthcare services needed after emergency treatment. The material in this manual is arranged sequentially according to the usual way in which patients are cared for—starting with the initial assessment of their condition and ending with the provision of followup care, including family planning and other reproductive health services. It is available on CD-ROM to provide the greatest flexibility in its use and allow it to be adapted easily to meet a particular country's needs. The package comprises a Learner's Guide, Trainer's Guide and Supervisor's Guide, and is designed to be used with the same PAC reference manual, audiovisuals and anatomic models used for group-based training.
