Manda Ghaferi is Associate General Counsel at Edward Jones Financial and a long- time Los Angeles resident. Prior to her current role, she served as Deputy General Counsel at AIG Life & Retirement for over 20 years. In 2021, she served as the Chair of the Advocacy Committee at the Insured Retirement Institute.

Her passion for diversity, equity and inclusion led her to participate and support employee resource groups and professional associations for women and their allies at AIG. In 2019, she received the Visionary Award for outstanding commitment and dedication from AIG’s Women in Distribution association. Modern Counsel magazine featured Ghaferi in a 2020 article, “Manda Ghaferi is a Change Agent at AIG.” Ghaferi was also featured in a Huffington Post series of articles called “Moms Change the World.”

In 2012, Ghaferi led the development of a regional pro bono program for AIG lawyers and legal/compliance professionals in Los Angeles, creating successful partnerships with Bet Tzedek’s Conservatorship Clinic, Alliance for Children’s Rights and Street Law’s Corporate Pipeline for Diversity. The LA team’s success with Street Law inspired colleagues in New York and Houston to develop the same program in their respective locations. Ghaferi was also actively involved with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and has a case before the U.S. immigration courts. On behalf of AIG, she sat on the board of Junior Achievement of Greater Los Angeles from 2016–2018.

Ghaferi graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a BA in political science; she received her JD from Loyola Law School.

Ghaferi is an avid reader of modern fiction and an aspiring writer. She enjoys adventure travel; Iceland is her favorite destination. Her greatest joy is spending time with her children, Sophie and Sam.
