Jhpiego has been working in Botswana since 2006, and is currently implementing five projects in the country with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon, the U.S. Department of Defense and Emory University through the Taskforce on Global Health. Through these various projects, Jhpiego is:
- reaching women and girls with cervical cancer education, prevention, screening and treatment services;
- expanding voluntary medical male circumcision services to prevent HIV transmission;
- strengthening combination HIV prevention services in the Botswana Defence Forces; and
- institutionalizing accreditation systems for pre-service education of health care workers.
