Jhpiego’s participation in the IMPACT program is strengthening health care   systems and improving quality of care for pregnant women.
 
On World Malaria Day, successes in the fight to prevent malaria include a Jhpiego-ExxonMobil Foundation effort to give community health workers in Nigeria the skills to protect women from malaria in pregnancy.
 
With Jhpiego’s help, a Burkina Faso physician is working to expand access to cervical cancer prevention programs in this West African country, where an estimated 724 women die yearly from the disease.
 
A billboard in Pagbilao, a village in the Philippines, reflects support for a Jhpiego-supported project to educate women on the human papillomavirus (HPV), a leading cause of cervical cancer, and protect the next generation through a vaccination program. The initiative is also under way in Thailand.
