Senior Director, HIV and Infectious Diseases
Kelly Curran is the Senior Director for HIV and Infectious Diseases at Jhpiego. She also serves as Director for the Jhpiego-led Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (TMEC) project. Ms. Curran has led Jhpiego’s efforts to bring biomedical prevention services from research to practice to public health scale; more than 4 million men and boys have received voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) at Jhpiego-supported sites in 12 African countries. Ms. Curran’s team is currently applying lessons from the VMMC scale-up to the introduction of oral pre-exposure prophylaxis in Kenya, Lesotho and Tanzania. She is proud to serve on the Technical Advisory Group of the Sauti Project in Tanzania, a large project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief/U.S. Agency for International Development that brings biomedical, behavioral and structural prevention and HIV testing services to key populations and their children, adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) and the male partners of sex workers and AGYW.
