Shale D. Stiller is a partner at DLA Piper LLP, one of the three largest law firms in the world, specializing in litigation, business law and tax law. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law for more than 58 years and is an active member of the American Law Institute. He is a trustee of Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine. He is the current president or past president of three of the largest charitable foundations in Maryland: the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the Leonard and Helen R. Stulman Charitable Foundation, and the Charles Crane Family Foundation. He is also a frequent lecturer and writer on legal topics.
Mr. Stiller is a past recipient of the American Inns of Court Professionalism Award and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Award for Public Service. In 2011, he was one of the first 13 Maryland judges and attorneys ever selected as Living Legal Legends by the Bar Association of Baltimore City. Mr. Stiller is a graduate of Yale Law School and received a Doctor of Humane Letters and master’s degree in liberal arts from Johns Hopkins University.
