A new partnership is ensuring increased and improved access to high-quality education for frontline health workers. As part of Jhpiego’s commitment to reach health care providers worldwide with up-to-date skills and knowledge, and to make learning accessible anytime, anywhere, we’ve partnered with the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA) to host and share our eLearning content on its digital continuing professional development (CPD) platform. This partnership brings learning opportunities directly to the screens of health care providers wherever they are.
WCEA’s digital CPD platform reaches more than 430,000 users with mobile-friendly, downloadable eLearning content targeted to health care providers in low- and middle-income countries. Working in partnership with professional associations and councils of health care providers, WCEA supports stakeholders by providing an out-of-the-box learning platform to host and manage digital CPD.
Jhpiego is pleased to make our eLearning content—more than 30 courses that span public health topics from HIV prevention to maternal and newborn health—available on this mobile-responsive platform. The response has been tremendous. Over the past year alone, more than 70,000 health care providers have completed over 150,000 Jhpiego-authored eLearning courses. This includes a recent course on oral pre-exposure prophylaxis to prevent HIV infection in those at elevated risk, authored by the World Health Organization and Jhpiego.
“To build a strong global health workforce, education must be an ongoing, iterative process,” said Dr. Leslie Mancuso, Jhpiego President and CEO. “WCEA’s reach means health care providers can expand their knowledge and skills anywhere, anytime—greatly accelerating our ability to transform health care for women and their families worldwide.”
“WCEA is delighted to have signed this partnership agreement with Jhpiego,” said Craig Fitzpatrick, WCEA Programme Director. “This enables us to scale up the training of providers across low- and middle-income countries with access to this quality and impactful content.”
